Biomarkers
What your blood work is actually telling you, marker by marker, in plain language.
A lab reference range is a statistical description of the people who got tested at that lab, with the outliers trimmed off. It is built to flag disease, not to describe someone who feels well. That is why a result can sit inside the range and still not answer the question you brought to it. These pages give you both numbers: the range your lab prints, and the range a root-cause practitioner reads it against, with the research behind each one.
Iron and blood
The markers that explain tiredness more often than any others, and the ones a standard blood count can miss entirely.
Stored iron. Can be at the floor while your blood count reads perfectly normal.
철과 TIBCCirculating iron and how much capacity is left to carry it.
헤모글로빈The oxygen carrier itself, and the last thing your body lets fall.
혈소판On every blood count, read least often, and the size may matter as much as the number.
Thyroid
A single TSH is the standard screen. It measures the signal being sent, not the hormone arriving.
The pituitary's instruction to the thyroid, and why the range is argued over.
유리 T3The active hormone actually doing the work in your tissues.
유리 T4The storage hormone waiting to be converted.
TPO 항체Autoimmune activity that can run for years while TSH still reads normal.
티로글로불린 항체The second antibody, and occasionally the only one that turns positive.
역T3Real physiology, and a test that cannot do the job it is sold for.
Metabolic
Insulin moves years before glucose does, which makes it the earlier question.
How hard your body is working to hold blood sugar steady.
HbA1cYour average blood sugar over about three months.
공복 혈당The standard screen, and one of the last numbers to move.
중성지방 대 HDL 비A cheap and telling read on metabolic health, calculable free.
요산Known for gout, and quietly a metabolic marker on a standard panel.
Inflammation
Cardiovascular
A standard lipid panel weighs the cargo. The useful question is how many particles are carrying it.
Nutrients
Several of these have a ceiling as well as a floor, which is the half most supplement writing leaves out.
The marker whose official threshold was withdrawn in 2024, and what that means.
비타민 B12Can sit inside the reference range while symptoms are already present.
엽산Half of a pair, and the half people correct without checking the other.
비타민 B6One of the few vitamins where too much causes the same nerve damage as too little.
비타민 EWidely inadequate from food, and a meta-analysis found harm at high doses.
비타민 KTwo forms, two jobs, and no gold-standard status test.
적혈구 마그네슘Why the standard serum magnesium test tells you very little.
아연A validated test with known sensitivities, and no standard panel runs it.
구리The mineral zinc quietly displaces, measured by two tests that can disagree.
셀레늄Built into the enzymes that activate thyroid hormone, with a close ceiling.
아이오딘Essential for thyroid hormone, and close to unmeasurable from one sample.
Hormones
Most of these mean little without knowing the time of day, the cycle day, or what the carrier protein is doing.
A total number that means little without knowing how much is available.
에스트라디올Uninterpretable without a cycle day attached, and readable after menopause.
코르티솔One point on a curve that moves more in a day than most hormones move in a lifetime.
DHEA 황산염Declines steadily with age, and gets read against the wrong range constantly.
Liver and kidney
On every standard panel, and normal may describe a population that is not well.
GGTThe liver enzyme most sensitive to alcohol, and a read on oxidative stress.
알부민Sold as a nutrition marker, and mostly reporting on inflammation instead.
eGFRAn estimate rather than a measurement, and the equation changed in 2021.
Every page here cites real, verifiable studies with linked PubMed IDs, and says plainly where the evidence stops. Where a widely repeated optimal range rests on thin data, the page says so rather than repeating it with confidence it has not earned.
40 pages published so far. More are being added.
